What You Need To Know Before Visiting

Your safety and well-being is our utmost priority. To ensure that Gateway Theatre remains safe and enjoyable for all, we have put in place the necessary Safe Management Measures in line with the Government’s guidelines.

Please help us by planning your visit and taking the time to read our measures below. Together, we can stay safe and reconnect with the arts and each other.

  • Is Gateway Theatre open to the public?
    Gateway Theatre’s spaces are open for site recce (strictly by appointment only), enrichment classes, and bookings for filming production only (maximum of 5 pax for site recce; and maximum of 30 personnel on location for filming production). All visitors, hirers, staff, vendors and patrons must adhere to the IMDA Mandatory Rules, prevailing safe distancing measures and the necessary precautionary measures put in place at Gateway Theatre.
  • Where do I enter Gateway Theatre?
    To facilitate mandatory temperature screening and check-in using the SafeEntry system, all visitors are to report to the Facilities Office (near Blk 163 Bukit Merah Central Food Centre). Please note that the drop-off point is temporarily closed.
  • Ensuring A Safe Experience For You At Gateway Theatre
    • All visitors entering Gateway Theatre will be required to wear masks at all times and to undergo mandatory temperature screening and check-in using the SafeEntry system.
    • Visitors with temperature above 38°C will be asked to re-take their temperature after a short rest and will not be allowed entry if their temperature remains above 38°C.
    • We have Increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfection of common areas. Hand sanitizers are also made available at various locations throughout the building.
    • We have revised the permittable capacity of our spaces according to the government’s guidelines.
    • We use floor markers or barricades wherever possible to help visitors to maintain a distance of 1 metre from one another.
    • The Sky Garden will be closed to the public until further notice.
    • All Front-of-House, security, cleaning and venue staff will be required to wear masks, conduct regular temperature-taking and put on a coloured sticker once they have taken their temperature and are cleared to continue working. Frontline staff with higher levels of interaction with visitors will be encouraged to put on face shields as well.
  • How you can help us
    • Please do not visit Gateway Theatre if you feel unwell, have experienced symptoms of COVID-19 including a fever, runny nose and sore throat in the last 14 days.
    • Please keep a safe distance of at least 1 metre from others and follow the visual markers that have been placed around Gateway Theatre.
    • Please refrain from visiting Gateway Theatre in large groups (maximum of 5 pax that’s consistent with government regulations on permitted group size).
    • Please observe lift capacity limits and allow less-mobile visitors to use the lifts first.
    • Please monitor your health condition and practise good hygiene throughout your time at Gateway Theatre.
