Visitor Safety Information

Your safety and well-being is our utmost priority. To ensure that Gateway Theatre remains safe and enjoyable for all, we have put in place the necessary Safe Management Measures in line with the Government’s guidelines.

Please help us by planning your visit and taking the time to read our measures below. Together, we can stay safe and reconnect with the arts and each other.

  • Is Gateway Theatre open to the public?
Yes, Gateway Theatre can now host live events, subject to the current government regulations. Gateway Theatre’s spaces are also open for site recce (strictly by appointment only), enrichment classes, and bookings for filming production.

All visitors, hirers, staff, vendors and patrons must adhere to the relevant advisories, prevailing safe distancing measures and the necessary precautionary measures put in place at Gateway Theatre. For film productions, please see the IMDA advisories. For arts events, please see the National Arts Council’s website.

  • Where do I enter Gateway Theatre?
If you are coming for an event, follow the event organiser's instructions. For events at the Theatre, audience members are usually ushered in from the front of the building. For events at the Black Box, the reception and registration area is usually at the Gallery on level 7. You can get there via the passenger lifts. Full directions are available here.

On all other occasions, all visitors are to report to the Fire Command Centre beside the passenger lifts (near Blk 163 Bukit Merah Central Food Centre).  Please note that the drop-off point is open by request only.
