In Transit

Everyone has their own story to tell. No matter how insignificant they seem, we all have moments that define who we are, and decisions that led us to be where we are today. Among those are common threads that wind through all of our stories. In Transit is a story of four strangers, their memories, their lives, and what they share in common.

Inspired by a chance encounter on public transport, In Transit is filled with moments that all of us can relate to. Moments filled with joy, pain, celebration, anguish and acceptance. In Transit tells a story about all of us and our shared experience in this world. So come laugh with us, cry a little (or a lot) and experience life through the eyes of these strangers. Chinmayam 2018

Chinmayam 2018 is a cultural extravaganza featuring notable celebrity artistes as well as our very own local talents. Our special guest for the evening is none other than Gautham Vasudev Menon, the outstanding South Indian Film director who has given us precious gems in films such as ‘Minnale’, ‘Vaaranam Aayiram', ‘Ennai Arindhal' and so on. His movies have reached out to the people and tugged at their hearts for the emotions and sentiments they evoke, while telling a story simply using familiar situations and characters. It is our honour to have him among us to share his thoughts and experiences.

We are also proud to have the honourable Ustad Fazal Qureshi with us to create extraordinary music as his swift and nimble fingers create magic on the tabla. Together with him, the brilliant Naveen Kumar will mesmerise us with his soothing renditions on the flute. Naveen is no stranger to us as he has played the flute for legends like AR Rahman and also to music from movies such as ‘Roja’, ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, ‘Taal’ and more. Together, these two accomplished musicians will set the stage on fire with a beautiful ‘Jugalbandhi’. Be prepared to fill your souls with hauntingly melodious songs by Geethiyaa Varman, Sajith Sankar and Sangeeta Madhav as they enchant you with their impressive range of vocals.

There will also be some mesmerising dance performances by the very graceful Maalika Panicker, who inspires many with her creative and precise choreography. The highlight of the night will be a dance drama, titled ‘Ramarasam’ based on the Hindu mythology, ‘Ramayana’. Join our young talents as they take you on a journey through time to retell the tale of Lord Rama and his wife, Sita, as seen through the eyes of the young Lava and Kusha. This will be performed by over fifty local talents, many of whom are children and students.

This drama is a move to initiate greater interest and participation among the younger generation towards the local arts scene.
