The Old Woman and the Ox

'The Old Woman and the Ox' (2017) is a play written by 20-year-old playwright, Isaiah Christopher Lee, which explores the entangled currents of fear, guilt, loss and love.

Set against the absurdist backdrop of a crumbling house, the play follows Aileen and the ghosts of her memories as she seeks for something she cannot find except within herself. Aileen has grown disenchanted and apathetic after the traumatic events of her past. But what happens when her past returns to haunt her and she is forced to face her biggest fear of all - the truth?

Inspired by his mother and grandmother, this tale blurs the lines of surrealism and reality to crystallise what it means to grapple with the abnormal mind. It delves into what it means to mother and be mothered, but more importantly the realities of our eternal search for answers.

Sugavaasi 1.0

Stories are excellent tools to encourage language development in a joyful environment. Sugavaasi 1.0 is designed to connect with pre-schoolers through our unique bilingual storytelling approach and explore emerging themes in Tamil through rhymes, music, and literacy-based activities. The Roots of Flamenco

In 2018—the year of the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Singapore & Spain—we are honored to celebrate the cross-cultural appreciation of the art of Flamenco.

Embrace your inner explorer and join us for an exciting evening with Monica Iglesias and company. Mónica Iglesias García is the winner of the 2018 female dancer of the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas. Monica's magnificent castanet, shawl, and Bata de Cola skills you never witnessed before. The Flamenco art form is full of drama. The Roots of Flamenco aims to provide an in-depth exploration of Flamenco to everyone. When you last came to the Flamenco Show, what was it made you say, “WOW!” Was it flamenco dance, music, singing with a tale of love, loss and express emotions and storytelling? Tablao Flamenco performance allows the audience to connect on the visceral level. We're proud to introduce the complexity of Gypsy Flamenco culture and performance.

Marksman Community Workshops

Got to Move (GTM), an initiative by the National Arts Council (NAC), is the nationwide dance movement that celebrates the diversity of dance in Singapore. Held annually in October, Got to Move aims to ignite Singaporeans’ interest in dance and to deepen their appreciation of the art form. It is a national platform to bring together Singapore’s dance professionals and enthusiasts and to showcase their talents and works to a diverse audience.

If you are an urban or street dancer, or want to learn more about Popping as a dance genre, join the Marksman Community Workshop - Hand & Leg Styles. You will learn about using Hands & Legs Style from Specialists in the Popping Genre, and how to move with the right knowledge, focus & specialist mind-set through the workshops.

Schools are given priority to book weekday tickets. This allows us to accommodate and meet each schools' unique requirements.

Members of the public who are keen on purchasing weekday tickets can book through Players Theatre. Public weekday ticket sales start 17 Aug 2018. This gives schools an opportunity to consolidate their bookings. Do You A Cappella 2018: For Granted

For Granted is an original romantic comedy by SMU VOIX, presented in the form of an a cappella musical. The musical is a glimpse into the lives of SMU students, Max and Sofia. Weaving compromise and compassion into a story about love, camaraderie, and kinship, relationships are brought forth, and its value gets rethought.

No instruments. No backing tracks. Just the human voice. SMU VOIX’s a cappella renditions of your favourite songs are masterfully intertwined with a wave of thought-provoking emotions alongside comedic elements for a performance that will keep you at the edge of your seat.

Vaganova Ballet Workshop 2018

The Vaganova method is a professional ballet technique and training system that merges French romantic style with the athleticism and virtuosity of Italian Cecchetti technique, and puts an enormous focus on progression. The progressive training system enables students to gradually develop physical strength, muscle memory and classical ballet techniques in a stable manner, ultimately enabling them to master stage performances.

This class is presented by Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida and co-organised by Canaan Dance and Russian Ballet Association.
